Black & White Blog Dogs

Well, I said a while back below somewhere in the dim distance of blog history that things were going to the dogs, so here are a couple more to add credence to that affirmation. The first shot with the self portrait shadow was taken on the steps in front of Sacré Coeur, in the area known as Montmartre in Paris, back in July 1986. Can't help it, but I always loved the way that white ear was sticking out straight, like an angel's wing. Stumbled on the second black and white dog below out in Brittany last summer. Can't even see the eye on the black side of his face. He belonged to a French Army veteran who was in a wheelchair after having gotten his leg shot up in the Ivory Coast a while back. My partiality for zebras was mentioned in a couple of earlier postings... well, black and white blog dogs are the next best thing... but not to worry, for you zebrologists out there, there will be more zebras coming soon to these pages, so check back often...

Hi Zoom...This is quite a cool picture...What is it about black and white photos that attracts the eye? The stark contrast or that the composition is more direct and the photographer usually keeps it simple....which is sage advise for just about anything we do in life...? What ever it is.. keep up the good work !

Hey Zoog, you're back !!! great to read you here again. Black and white is wonderful, for years I shot no color, but then, well, see the post way back in September or October of the Calvin & Hobbes cartoon on the topic... the world turned color at some point. Thanks !
