Hippolyte Cazier

Hippolyte Cazier died on the battlefield in 1914 at the age of 59, clearly a greatly appreciated man in his community at the time . . . All I can say is, if this sculpture is accurate and true to his image in life, he had perhaps the most amazing moustache I've ever seen on anyone. And a chest covered with decorations. I took this photo this afternoon while strolling in the cemetery in Creil, Picardie, France. May you rest in peace . . .
