Haunting Cemeteries

On the same grave on which the two portraits posted just below here were these two pieces... the first one explaining that Emile Roussel died in Belgium at the age of 40 in May 1918. His portrait here has faded to a ghostlike presence after all those years in the sun and wind and rain.

This second image of a broken plaque says "Regrets"... may you rest in eternal peace, Mr. Roussel. Only reading the Journals of Louis Barthas has helped give me some small glimpse of what you must have endured as the war lagged on four long years...
