Feeling Crushed...

Along with abandoned cars, roadkill, REK paintings, Edward Abbey, Eliot Porter, rust, old postage stamps, photography, Grateful Dead music, books by a slew of authors like John Fowles, Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut, Erich Maria Remarque, Robert Pirsig, etc, and more music from the likes of Jackson Browne, Al Stewart, Bruce Cockburn, Carlos Santana, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and so on and so forth, another theme that twists its strand into the twine of this magic lantern show, is that of cemeteries. Whenever I get the chance I will gladly go poke around in cemeteries, the older the better. The efforts man makes to be remembered, or to remember his kindred brethren, often leave traces that emanate powerful energy, and sometimes leave unintentional traces of a less serious sort... take for example these two Christs in a pile, one gold, one leaden, hopefully the one on the bottom wasn't feeling too crushed... wow, being crucified is bad enough...
