Avignon In Photos . . .

And while taking note of other worthwhile and well conceived blogs out there, I'd like to render homage to Nathalie's Avignon In Photos blog, which is full of fun and surprises ; as well as some great photos from Avignon, France. If you take a quick look at her blog you will see that for the first day of April, known in some places as April Fool's Day, Nathalie posted a splendid view of the new beach along the Rhone River in Avignon. What a project that must have been to haul all that sand in there. Just need some bathing beauties to spice it up a little now.
.
However, just one question for Nathalie : In this first photo below here (not a great photo, sorry!) you can see the view along the Pont d'Avignon to the far side of the river where the beach is now. . . so the question is, what on Earth did they do with all the trees that were there ? ? ? Couldn't they have left a few for shade ?!? :-) . . . and if you believe all that, well, how would you like to buy the bridge in Avignon ?
.
The following photos show the interesting view along the bridge in the other direction back to the Pope's Palace, and then two pieces of modern art that adorned the walls at the parking lot where we left our car just outside the Avignon city walls. . .

Well of course Owen you've got a point. May I say that the answer lies within my (photo)shopping talents? Keeping the trees would have been far more satisfactory I agree!

The last two photos in your post are far from standard views of Avignon, contrary to the first two. Quite an inteesting mix really! I presume they're from the far end of parking des Italiens where huge walls are open to graffiti?

And why not some palm-trees curved by the wind ?

And some bird-of-paradise flowers of course...

I'd love that !

Sincerely yours.

Thanks to all for stopping by...

Hi Nathalie ! You are right, the two graffiti shots were at the far end of the Parking des Italiens, although I had forgotten the name of the parking area, just looked it up on tha Avignon Mairie site, that looks right to me... because we walked in from that direction that day...

Michel, Bonjour, je viens de parcourir plusieurs pages dans votre blog; excellent, je vois que Nathalie n'est pas la seule à aimer Avignon... va falloir que je reviennes, j'aime la série lézards, etc...

Hey Alex... glad you are enjoying, am trying to mix things up a little bit.

Fucoid, cool, yeah, have been adrift for rather a long time now, don't know any other way to be... there are at least a few more posts coming, as long as I have a breath left in me...
