Window Pains

Another picture of window panes, these showing their pain for all the world to see... well, for anyone willing to venture into the badlands of West Philadelphia like I did in April 2008... a dangerous place these days unless you happen to be a gun toting drug baron. Sad, sad, sad, to live in fear, to travel in fear, in what should have, what could have been the greatest country on Earth. Should we even still be trying to reason in terms of countries, greater or lesser? The notion of nations should maybe go the way of the dinosaurs? Countries cause fences, fences cause division, but humans have worshipped multiplication, to the point where division causes substraction from the whole, and fractions cause factions which cause increasing friction, and friction causes heat, and things are warming up. Meanwhile these window panes gaze oblivious, reflecting our collective pain... hence the title : window pains...

Some other panes I find while browsing. And your talk of fences and living in fear is something I feel strongly about, even here in pleasant rural NZ. Gated communities are offered quite nearby, feeding on fear, creating divisions...
