Although this image is not aesthetically pleasing by any standard, am submitting it to the public record for its historical value. On a beautiful point of granite outcropping between the two large ports of Roscoff, France, in the 1940's the German Army built a huge re-inforced concrete bunker complex with commanding views for artillery (don't know what "art" there is in "artillery"... should re-name that activity as "idiotillery" ! ) fire across the entire British Chanel horizon from there. Most of it has been sealed off, but by crawling down a narrow opening, I found this underground chamber. Doesn't look like it would have been much fun to have had to spend any time here... one could suppose or hope that the inhabitants reaped their just desserts... going bonkers in a bunker... what hideous stupidity the human race has so often displayed, and it continues to this day...
