I spotted this considerably lengthy spiral stair case somewhere in rural Pennsylvania back around 1988. It simply amazes me how people have the patience to build things like this, welding each step and each piece of railing one at a time into sections, then hoisting each section up into place and attaching it to the building and to the stairs already in place. . . what determination ! Sort of like building a blog ! Must be a wonderful view from the top . . . getting closer to heaven up there. What was the line in Kevin Costner's film, Field of Dreams ? Something to the effect of, "Build it, and they will come." ? Well, the building is in progress still. . .

I think it was a grain elevator. . . although, you never know, it may have been a nuclear missile silo in disguise !
