These three shots were right next to each other on a strip of negatives from 1987 that just came back from the lab last week after getting turned into digital files. There are still about 3500 more like that to go, all on strips of negatives that I piled up over the years but never printed beyond just a small handfull of things I wanted to see at the time. The Mother Lode from the Phillips Collection France. A barn in rural Pennsylvania, then a detail of planks falling off one side, followed by a close up from a plank with a knothole black hole in the middle, like the iris of an eye. . .
