Face in France...

While out roaming around the other day, which I will do if given even the slightest opportunity, I found this face staring back at me in a 14th century churchyard way out in western Brittany, France. Something profound and moving and serene and haunting stopped me in my tracks to linger here, communing with the sculptor's message from hundreds of years ago. Will anything we make today have the power 500 years from now to move people so powerfully as this face moved me. Will this blog, for example, last that long ? Whoever you were who modeled for this piece, despite the slightly broken nose, the lichen and moss growing in even the tiniest footholds in the stone, your beauty shines on...
