Pere Lachaise Hidden Treasures . . .

Again in Pere Lachaise, this grave marker with a very faded photo was "To the Memory of my Son, who Died For His Country". . . a song comes to mind : "When will we ever learn ? When will we ever, learn?"

I have always liked the image of the snake swallowing its own tail ; symbolizing our perpeptual circles, cycles in life, tonight the moon is dark and gone, in a couple of weeks it will be full again. So anyway, I was surprised to find this image on the door of a memorial structure in Pere Lachaise. . . and with a gorgeous patina of rust for good measure. . .
