Valley of the Dolls . . .

These images are dedicated to Bobzilla, the barbarian barbie bounty hunter. At the jumble sale today there were in fact quite a few dolls in attendance. . . I think they had seen the post I did yesterday, and they came out of the woodwork to see me . . . this first one whispered to me that the Marquis sent them. . .

Those dolls look rather old! I love second hand stores, jumble sales etc...my dad could never drive past one either (sales etc that is not dolls) so I think I have inherited my love pre-owned stuff from him. One of my favourite things is a doll that my grandparents bought in Port Said in 1955, for their first born grand daughter - which was me, even tho' I wasn't even born of thought of then!! I still have her, she went to doll hospital a few years ago and looks fab now.

Zoom you are a trip...Is that a doll size filing cabinet behind the Sharon Stone Doll in Red? LOL !

Wow, Those dools look rather terrifing for me - I don't know why but I've always found old dolls strange and a bit frightening. Maybe too many horror films?
But I love jumble sales! Nice post, interesting.
have a nice week:)

Salut cher Owen !
That is ze question ?

A bientôt Owen 2 L !... Amitiés Owen !

What an amazing jumble sale you went to! We don't seem to have them here any more, it's been replaced by car boot sales sadly. I've always been fascinated by dolls, especially those spooky old ones that are probably still alive.Ha!

The first few are oddly Hollywood - Elizabeth Taylor-ish.

I have to agree that Hollywood might have a bit of creepy influence on our doll consciousness. You seem to have hit the jackpot for inspiration at the jumble sale. The shot with little? heads on sticks is my favorite.

Oooooh, well Owen, if you have jumble Sales like this in France, I will have to move there! These photos are FAB! I just love the creepy old dolls - they are weirs, aren't they? I really want the papier mache ones, like puppets heads, brilliant! The decaying buildings are fantastic too, in fact all your photos.....
Thanks for stopping by and seeing Tiddles, I let you know how it all went subito!! xxx

These photos are seriously spooky, Owen. Flipping heck! Especially the last one where the heads have been jammed on sticks. Thanks for the Jack Russells. Laurie

Exquisitely grotesque! A wonderful post. I will need to follow this blog for sure!

Well, I can see this dollop of dolls in the blog cake mix today caught people's attention and imagination. I understand the spooky, haunted feeling they may transmit, something vaguely voodoo about all that, especially the heads on sticks... but they seduce me nevertheless...

Butler & Bagman, welcome, welcome, the more the merrier !

Et Margaret, bienvenue to you too !

Bill, Steve, yeah, Hollywood, especially the grimmer side of bad Hollywood films like the "Chucky" series probably does not help old dolls to ... come out of the closet easily...

Busk, my greetings to Tiddles, please let him know he has nothing to fear from these scary old dolls... I won't let them out of the Lantern

Sag, hope we'll see your Port Said doll soon ? Nice story...

Joo, thanks for dropping by from so far away, do they have any old doll places in Poland ? Or maybe in your attic ???

Lily, great to see you around here !!! watcht out, blogging is habit forming !

Jessie, they are what one believes they are... they may still be alive...
