Strange News From Other Planets . . .

To illustrate the sort of surprises one may have on any given day in this life, I just received this joyful message by e-mail from a slightly demented reader named Bubby Bobzilla somewhere in Pennsylvania. . . and it was accompanied by a photo that he took :
.
Oh, Oweee,
I found a new friend! Just like our old friend, sans the spike through the head. A fresh start of what could be a beautiful relationship.I'm sure she will want to come for a visit. I know she's curious about France and has heard many stories of the Marquis de Sade.I know she just can't wait to meet you! There's so much work to do… Bubby

.
PS (my PS) Bubby, as well as being an acclaimed abandoned doll hunter, is also an accomplished painter, and I encourage you to seek out in my back posts images of his paintings... see Bobzilla in labels list. . . And Thanks Bob for this doll, can't wait to meet her ! ! !
.

PS . . I would like to thank an alert reader, Catherine in Mexico City, who commented just after this was published about a site in Mexico City where there are many old dolls in a surreal setting. . . There is a video on You Tube of the site she mentionned.

You should direct this guy to the "Island of Dolls" in Xochimilco, Southern Mexico city..an island in the canal area which is full of abandoned dolls up in the trees.. it certainly is spooky Blair Witch project when you see it from the boats, and of course there is a plethora of theories as to why they are there...

This is hysterical...Bobzilla the doll hunter....oh my... I have tears running down my face from laughing like a hyena...

So Bobzilla how long were you hunting her down?...It looks like she has plugs from a hair transplant, gone bad...

Who could pass up those eyes, petite ears, and cherub cheeks just want to munch all over her...I would take her to the Antique Roadshow...then you could add "bounty" hunter to your many talents....thanks for the catharctic guffaws..

Freaky! Put in mind of Angela Carter and The Company Of Wolves...

I find the dolls mostly frightening, but also fascinating. :)

Catherine, I did indeed send the info on the site in Mexico City to my doll hunting friend, thanks so much for the tip ! There are a couple of videos on YouTube about that place as well... unbelievable.

Lily Zoog, glad to have been able to make you laugh like a hyena, wish I could have heard that !!! Yeah, that Bobzilla is quite a character, and he really does exist, in case you were doubting, there is even a photo of him way back in the older posts... and you are right, that hair implant was a major failure here ! LOL !

J34, tu es fort pour les jeux de mots ! En effet, je vole bcp mieux avec les deux ailes, avant, je volais en cloche-pied... merci !

Steve, have not come across Ms Carter before... maybe you can cite the relevant passage ??? And if you put a few of these in your garden, with broken bottle pieces inside, that should clear up your Rotten problem...

Amy, I enjoy the fascinating side to them too... mustn't let them frighten you, it's just a bit of old plastic...
