Stairway to Hope . . .

I guess I've been obsessed with stairs for a long time, stairs that lead to doors to mysterious spaces. Something about climbing and climbing and climbing towards another level in life. . .

Ah ! Je suis un des premiers !... Tous encore au lit ?
Salut cher Owen !

Ouaih !... C'est ça...! A plus !

I just stumbled across your blog and enjoyed whiling my afternoon away scrolling through your posts.
Those stairs - how terrible to get to the top and then realise that you'd forgotten something vital!

The black and white format of the last several posts made for a nice counterpoint.

Have you ever read 'The poetics of space' by Gaston Bachelard - I recommend it (and of course he was French)!

The stairs put me in mind of "The Phantom Tollbooth" (can't remember the author at the mement.)
