From Bric a Brac to Angels . . .

Bric a Brac shop in Brittany, where there were a number of old barometers (see below post) and dolls (or were they angels in disguise descended from the clouds?) in the window . . . perhaps some of you will recognize where this is ?

I'm going out on a limb here and am going to say..possibly somewhere in France?? :-)
however, I did take a photo of some old dolls at a street stall in Amsterdam once and got yelled at in very eloquent Dutch, along with a lot of sign language (indicating that I should have read the sign about No Take Photos)

Your photos are the best I have seen anywhere on the blogs. Everyone should come here and see what a real photograph looks like.

The photos of those dolls are exquisite!

Love the reflections on these - they give a real feeling of depth and otherness.

Steve... thank you good sir, with encouragement like that, I will continue to strive to find "otherness" in odd places... that's a good word for it...

Jo... a million smiles for your kindness...

And last but certainly not least, Dear Sag,
Those "old dolls" in a "street stall" you photographed, and then got yelled at... I think that must have been their, how do you say, their, I'm embarrassed to use such a term here, but I think the word is : "pimp" yelling at you ! That'll teach you to photograph old call-dolls in street stalls in Amsterdam...

how strange some of these Breton shop windows can be - none of the perfection of English country town bric-a-brac shops.

did you go inside?

I've always liked dolls - these have rather a surreal look. Do/did your girls like dolls?
