The Circus Is In Town . . .

While out and about this afternoon, I ran smack into a big clown face. As is sometimes the case with clowns, it was hard to say with any certainty whether he was really all that friendly. Or not. I couldn't decide whether the white strip at the lower right of his mouth was supposed to represent a cigarette dangling there. If so, this would be a fairly shady clown indeed, but then, clowns are often a bit ambiguous. . .

There was a good reason for the clown being there . . . the circus was in town . . .

Less ominous than the poster clown from a few days ago! the eyes look more wholesome. I believe the white strip is attaching him to the wire--it does look like a cigarette dangling from his lips, though. Did you go in? Hear the familiar music?

I agree re: the cigarette. Combined with the hat he looks like an East End spiv... a proper clown an' no mistake, guv'nor!

Owen it's terrible. I've been away from my computer over the weekend and when I come back I'm faced with a big load of new posts to look at, and many worthy of comments. Would you please calm down a bit?

All right, I loved your top photo here, great "in your face" framing - the dangling cigarette left me wondering how old that neon sign could be? Very observant of you to notice it, I hadn't!

Thanks also for Saturday's post mentioning Avignon in Photo - ever too kind!

I love the photos, yet I do believe that is a cig dangling (that was my initial impression, and the manufacturer would certainly know in the design process).
