Boite Aux Lettres

I loved this slightly battered mail box in Homs, Syria, where you can just make out "Boite Aux Lettres" ; French for "Mail Box"... And it didn't look like it was made yesterday. Maybe the fact that what is today Lebanon and Syria was prior to the creation of those two countries a French mandated territory, left some French influence, more than one might guess...

Hi Owen! Thanks so much for the link to Patrick D.'s book. I will be adding that one to my collection for sure! You should get the Annie L. book. I love it because she really goes into detail about her photographic career, how she shoots, what she LIKES to shoot, etc. It's very inspiring.

Also, I noticed on your "interests" you love walking in Bruges, Belgium. I spent some time there a few years ago and it is an AMAZING city!! I love walking there too!!

Hey Rebekah ! Great to read you here ! Thanks for dropping by in blogland ! Am definitely going to look for Annie L.'s book ; the documentary about her was a real gem... I recorded it off the TV and have been back to it several times since. If you go down through this blog there are already a few posts of photos from Bruges, and more will be coming, it is like a fairy tale city... (unless you see it through the eye of the producer of the film titled "In Bruges" where it is a fairy tale turned nightmare)
