Had just gotten into my car this afternoon after exploring the cemetery behind the wall here. Was about to drive off, when I glanced in the mirror. A flash of red drew my attention, like a bull goaded by a matador. I suddenly had a vision of every dog in the neighborhood stopping by here and lifting a back leg ! Every dog's dream.

Yes, I admit, it's a bit banal as reflections go. But it will have to do (as in : doggy do !) for today. Now, if you have a dog, tell him or her to come take a look, let's get some tails wagging around the world ! Woof !!! For James' Weekend Reflections... And there is actually a double reflection here, can just see a small splash (that flowing water image again !) of red in the side of the car.

Super...my pack would appreciate this bit of street furniture...
I like the way the fire hydrant is reflected in the mirror and also reflected on the side of the car that is also reflected in the mirror. :-)
This is #67 at Weekend Reflections
The last time I saw a hydrant like that Top Cat was sitting on it.
Good and gritty photo. Your mirror is very clean; this reflection looks like reality enhanced through a frame. A bit like Steve, this is a picture book hydrant for me.
Happy New Year Owen :-)
We once moved into a house with a fire Hydrant on the corner of the property. Our dog, Pepsi thought he had died and gone to doggie heaven.
You really have a great photo there.
A nice gift to our pooches (and the people who love them) before the year wraps up. It has been so much fun following you here and on Facebook this year, Owen. I hope we get to meet in person in Paris in 2013! Until then... Excellente nouvelle année, et bonne célébration pour le Réveillon! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Thanks for pointing out the second reflection. Would have missed it. Happy New Year.
You need a splash of red to counteract all that grey.....Greetings from sunny Nice and Happy New Year
Je viens te souhaiter une douce soirée Owen et une année 2013 riche en photos!
Given a pooch's puppy love of fire hydrants, it's ironic that they're always situated in a no barking zone.
Urine must bleach things... Looks like the dogs favour one side of the hydrant over the other.
our dogs say thank you and ruff-ruff.
My little reflection: Female dogs don't - I believe - worry about lifting a back leg, but they would certainly enjoy the sniffing part! :-)
All the best to you and your family for 2013! Time to meet again!
