Dear Friends,
Some issues at work have forced my absence over the entire past week, had to travel unexpectedly to Germany, and am on my way back early in the morning, after a very short Sunday at home. Had no time all last week, just work and the hotel... what's that saying about all work and no play ? This blog is my "play" time... so I've been missing it, and you, yes, especially you, dearly. I hope life will return to normal soon. Too much havoc in the world these days. We need to return to something simpler. Is that even possible ? I stumbled on this bar for sale in Brittany recently. Maybe we could all get together there sometime for a drink ? This round's on me. Cheers to all, see you soon. A bientôt.

Ah! I always like to see 'Muriels' on the wall. Hope things get quieter soon, but I know what it's like, Owen! Phew!
Looks like a cool place. Rather than getting together for a drink, hell, let's get together and buy the place!!!
Could we turn this one into a cheesecake bar?? I love it!!
Take good care of yourself!
Warm hugs!
You project a really nice personality, Owen. I don't really drink, but the facade of that bar is just magnificent. I'd love to meet you and all your pals, there. To simpler times.
haha, one of the most interesting self reflections ever :-)))
do you plan on buying this bar and transforming it into an art gallery? :-) Lynne and i (i am sure among others) are waiting for this, even if it is not Paris! :-)
Cheers, Owen. Mine's a whiskey!
Thanks for visiting my blog, Owen. I love all the component parts of Lynne's picture. What I didn't realise is that you were THE Owen of The Magic Lantern! I've been a follower of yours, through Networked Blogs, for quite a while.
Hi Owen, Missed you, but here you are again(busy, busy, eh?).
I DO LIKE that bar and that facade so much, wonderful, wish I could start a new life and run that bar (btw any idea about the who and when of that outside decoration?)
If we all got together, we'd look like the press corps at the Oscars all gathered with our cameras! That street art is amazing and you were even able to record yourself into the scene. Well done! Here's to you pal, Clink!
Oh yes, I'll be there...and i note that the place already has those authentic cracks in the facade that I have grown so accustomed to down here!
Of course, I'll have to be the main bar tender...what with my experience in making them and you and Big Sis knocking them back I reckon it's a done deal!
an impressive ability to measure current time and life.

Hi Owen~ I'm assuming that's you reflected taking this photo?! That just makes the image more surreal, strange. I love that di Chirico look! And very trompe l'oeil. And the old brick building next door? I think you've picked a winner! (Is it the Tractor?) The best part is that everyone wants to meet you there!
I loved your shot of allium and Lynne's subsequent mixed media portrait of it with a photo of her daughter and Rimbaud's poem, Sensation. That's collaboration!
Good luck setting the world to rights at work, Owen. At least you are doing it in Germany rather than Peoria--no offense to P intended...
I love the last photo of you and the bar in its entirety. Fantastic!
Bonne continuation!
Superb progression, Owen!
8:30PM, June 10? I'll be at the table in the corner.
... and the next round is one me! :-)
Fantastic wall painting!
Cher Owen, j'espère que tu trouveras le temps de souffler un peu...Bises et amitiés,
K'line (très absente ces derniers temps, mais je garde un oeil sur toi ;)
Woohoo!!! A drink sounds awesome to me! I've been drowning in school work, these past few weeks, and I can sure use a break. I understand totally about being taken away by work... it happens! And today... I told myself I was going to get out there and make some rounds to friends... so here I am! And it feels awesome!!!
Cheers, Owen!!! :-)
Nevine
what a great looking bar - would certainly like to go for a drink here - whereabouts in Brittany is it?? Greetings from Mexico..
Hope you don't get caught in the dust cloud or the vegetable crisis! ;o)
Hi Everybody !
Just got back from another full week away without a connection in Germany... was supposed to be three days, but it slipped into having to stay the whole week... hopefully things will quiet down a bit now.
Thanks for all your wise and witty words here... always a fabulous pleasure to open up the comment box and see what has drifted in from around the world.
Visibly quite a few of you would like to pitch in and buy this place, then we could all hang out there. Well, we can do it virtually for now, ok ? And here's a bottle of virtual champagne to pop the cork on too... for all of you...
Best wishes for a fine weekend to one and all...
I'm virtually sloshed just considering the outside of this bar. My question would be: Can the interior stand up to the exterior? Love that old rusted-out car up top, by the way. Hauntingly artistic without any help.
