The Best . . .

Although it is rather late here, I'd just like to thank all of you who may venture here from time to time, your comments on the birthday post below this one completely floored me, and I wanted to take the time to answer each and every one of you, before moving on here. Hope to be back around soon to all of your places. All I can say is, you are :

I give the "you are the best" back to you, dear Owen.
I'm visiting blogs regularly and I see that more and more bloggers don't reply the comments anymore but for me the exchange of ideas and opinions is the essential of the blog. Without this communication I wouldn't have a blog.
You have so many commenters here and you reply each of them. I would like to say: That's wonderful and great! You are so respectful and grateful. And this I think is the meaning of this last post...
You know, I read Siddhartha several times (you should also read it again, it is so wonderful :-)!). But my blog has the title "Looking for Siddhartha" not because of Hesse's book but because I'm a Buddhist myself :-)!

Have a nice day, Owen! It's a great pleasure for me to discover your blog in the New Year!

Tschüss, bis bald!

Renée

I'm guessing the full message would make Tina Turner proud... as indeed do you, Owen. Happy birthday again!

Belated Happy Birthday!
I'm not going to guess what the full message here is, cos those two words are just perfect.

Ciao Owen !

Not sure what that sign may say, but I am guessing it does not say:

"I saw THE BEST minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical, naked, dragging themselves through the streets at dawn looking for an angry fix."

With apologies to Larry L. King – Does it read "The Best Little Whore House In Paris"?

Hi Owen,
Just missed the date itself, but nevertheless my congratulations in retrospect with your birthday, and best wishes for a nice weekend.
Have no idea from what message "the best" could be a part, neither could I guess where this might be situated. Just will await one of the next editions of your wonderful blog.
Many greetings, Henk

Happy birthday again... ♪ ♫ ♫ ♪

I immediately filled it in with ... is yet to come. That is a really awesome shot with all the vertical elements, the paint washing downward, and all the "hairy" bits. You have a great eye for texture and irony!

Belated Birthday Wishes. Thanks for being around to brighten our world. As for the message;
"The Best ....was obviously sometime ago."

or more likely,
"The Best Fresh Eggs for Miles." or kilometers.

Hei Elisa, thanks so much, I'm going to start making some wishes right away, because now that I know you also are wishing for them to come true, then there's twice as much chance that they will !
Kiitos !

Owen said...

Tag Renée,
Ah, then perhaps you have already found a little bit of Siddhartha ?

Totally agree with you about the importance of the exchange of thoughts, humor, smiles through the comment box... it is the connections with other people out there that make blogging worthwhile...

Be well...

Owen said...

Steve, now you've certainly got me scratching my head... hmmmm, Tina Turner... what does she have to do with all this ??? You may have to enlighten me on that one my friend, I'm surely too slow to make the quantum leap you're encouraging me to take...
:-)

Owen said...

Hi Mimi,
Perhaps that is "The Best" answer, these two words on a barn side are pretty good as a stand alone, and certainly better than the full message, which will be posted shortly. Many thanks for the birthday wishes too !!!

Owen said...

Salut salut salut JEFFFFFFFFF !

Bien sûr, of course, c'était à ton intention, car ze best the best zzzeee very best ne s'improvise pas, même en conneries, ou pas du tout en conneries, tu as ze best mind, the best esprit, pour dire ce que tu as à dire, exactement ce que tu as à dire, et tout ce que tu as à dire, de manière que c'est toujours un plaisir de te lire... !

A bientôt,

Un crapaud du grand nord...

Owen said...

Dear Magnolia, un grand merci ! Thanks so much. Life is sort of surreal, so these photos reflect that dimension...

Owen said...

Hey Mythop, I would have thought you'd recognize that one, there must be some like it on barns across Tennessee, just as this message was plastered on barns across Pennsylvania where I saw it in September. Funny, before I set out on a week-long odyssey around PA, a friend told me that Pennsylvania has Philadelphia in the east, and Pittsburgh in the west, and in between, it's Alabama... there is some truth to that...

Anyway, stay tuned for the full side of the barn, the broad side...
:-)

Owen said...

Dee ! Ahem !
This was in Pennsylvania, not Paris... And anyway, wasn't that in Texas ??? Anyway, there were only cows inside this structure...

Owen said...

Hi Loulou,
Most certainly, the best is yet to come !!! Especially when you drop in for a quick visit, that is the best of all !

The Best wishes to you in India !!!

Owen said...

Hi Henk !
Many many thanks !

Well, this isn't exactly outsider art, although perhaps when outdoor advertising signs like this start to fade and wash away in the weather, with vines growing over them, they could soon be considered outside art...

All the best to you in 2011...

Owen said...

:-)

Owen said...

Dear Stickup, there's alot going on here as you so clearly observed... especially the hairy bits...
:-)

Owen said...

Hey LGS,
Good guess, about fresh eggs there, but not quite, although it was in reference to an agricultural product... more soon.

Many thanks for the bday greets !

Owen said...

Hi dear Roxana,
Perhaps you are right to not necessarily want to see the rest of the message, which was some advertising from long ago... words from the past on a well weathered wall, advertising a product in all the innocence of another age, where the power of advertising was only beginning to be understood. Now though, just fading words, where textures called out to a passing eye...

:-)

Owen said...

Hi Robert, perhaps stronger than time, the walls of that barn may outlive us all... And yes, I do carry a very special lantern when I travel, which shines a light which helps me see these things...

Owen said...

Dear Distracted,
I know how busy you are, anytime you can make it is a pleasure to see you've passed through.

Your blog was one of the first I found when I discovered what a "Blog of Note" was, and ever since I've felt your space is noteworthy... I'm never disappointed, you find the most amazing poetry, always a pleasure...

Be well...

Owen said...

Dear Celine,
One must always be looking to improve one's life, otherwise it becomes Un Voyage au Bout de la Nuit, (par un autre Celine...)
:-)

Yes, the best is to come ! For sure, especially with your company here...

nathalie said...

The best is yet to come seems the best answer.

I liked the idea of best fresh farm eggs in miles though, so the best bet is to await your answer.
