As you may have gathered, this is the summer of running. Running, but trying to find a few peaceful moments even so. I know many of you are having busy summers also, it is not always easy to find time for blogging, but sooner or later we return inevitably to the blogs, this rich ecosystem of friendship and creativity. I really can't tell you how much all your comments and company mean to me. I hope soon to be back to coming 'round regularly to visit your sites where over the past two years I've been finding so much vitality and sustenance. In the meanwhile, I'm off to work now, after a short week away. Gotta run. . . But will leave you with another shot of Mont St Michel from the other evening, on the day I drove out to Brittany a week ago. Yesterday I came back home from Brittany, and again stopped at Mont St Michel; this time in the afternoon, to go in and visit the island, which I haven't done since about 25 years ago. More on that soon.

A gorgeous, atmosphere rich shot Owen... cool August breezes and the smell of salt... makes me inhale deeply and contentedly.
Oh Owen. This is breathtaking. You should be very proud of this one. I hope you had a good time away and I look forward to more photos from Mont St. Michel. I have always wanted to visit!!

This amazing photo captures a sense of mystery and motion -- The clouds appear to be moving across the late afternoon sky.
Just beautiful and I look forward to hearing more about your visit to the island. Merci!
Beautiful. I hope I get the chance to visit there one day.
... amazingly beautiful capture... you got it just right...
Wonderful, even somewhat haunting photo. Like the beginning of an Umberto Eco story. See ya soon!
I wish i could be there right now! Amazing!!!
Thank you for one more lovely photo.
Gorgeous... This one of my favourite places in France ; it so magical. I hope you did enjoy your trio to Brittany.
Beautiful photo for a beautiful place. I love that sky. I was there a few years ago but I haven´t any really good photo. Greetings.
Once upon a time....
Biblical sky, miracles ahead.
Beautiful. That sky just seems to stream toward me.
The magic kingdom for real.
I highly encourage stopping by this place as often as possible - we really benefit from the images. :)
Owen,
Welcome back to the world of the working stiff! I hope that your harem is still getting some R&R at grandmother's house for a bit longer!
I am thrilled for you to have actually been able to take a tour around the Mont itself after such a long time away. Your photo is beautifully atmospheric!
Have a good week at work!
Inquiétant, sombre, fantomatique...
Quelle superbe lumière !

I'm so glad you stopped running long enough to snatch this incredible photo! I hope you are having a wonderful summer.
A promise in the making.
Please have a wonderful Thursday.

Looks like something from a Harry Potter set...very dark, moody and utterly intriguing! Well taken, young man, well taken!
Aaaaah what a great show you're putting on today!
I haven't been to the Mont St Michel since I was a little girl. My parents had a seaside house not so far from it and we used to take visitors out there on a regular basis. I guess not much has changed. Souvenir shops on both sides of the narrow medieval main street and a gorgeous sight nevertheless ?
Beautiful sky above a magnificient place!

Have a nice day, Owen*******
If that is not the most magical shot of such a magical place... then I don't know where the most magical shot is! Always... from behind your lens... you see the moments that are worthy of being remembered... and you remember them with one tap of the finger... the finger that knows exactly when it must tap to catch magic while it is unfolding.
You are busy, Owen. Life calls you... and you answer. And who can blame you? But it is ever kind of you to stop, every once in a while, what you are doing and to take a little shot here and there with which to color our worlds. And you are ever more kind to stop in and visit me again... though I am late visiting you... having taken advantage of you, knowing that you will forgive my being late. Yes, I take advantage of you because you are so kind. But I've made it yet! And what a lovely gift awaited me! Wow for this photo... and for all the photos you take... because you capture beauty like no one else can.
Warm thoughts to you as you go about your business, Owen.
I, too, shall be returning to work next week... for another harrowing year of teaching and preaching.

I hope to be back to answering each comment individually shortly, because you deserve it, and because your thoughts pouring out here just touch a soft secret place in me that makes me remember what life was like long ago when the future was boundless, when the days were long, when people were good and true, and evil was something read about in fairy tales. But I'm not quite there yet, and here I am again at 06h30 in the morning after a long night at work, eyelids propped open, just wanting to say humbly... thank you. You all make me smile. And smiling is good. Kindness is good. Friendship is good. And that is what is happening here. Be well, all you shining lights...
I want to go to France and see Europe so bad I can taste it. It's way beyond my time to "Rise" and renew and refresh myself and my life.
This photo is just the kind of thing I yearn to see and be around.
Hope your not working too hard. Yes, Friendships are good..especially the people that are just so "real"..whether from the blog world or in our own home town where we live..I've made some real true friends and they are there for me..this is something I have not experienced for a long time in my life..so yes you are right..about the "shining light" of this world.
Love, Peace and Blessings for the world,
Rhi
" it is not always easy to find time for blogging, but sooner or later we return inevitably to the blogs"
Yep, you've got that right.
Wonderful photo.
