Honk honk!

Dear Mr. Owenslug,
I saw this entry as a sign that I should leave you my happiest and slimiest sluggy comment.....I am interested in visiting the Beanies store as depicted on the Phillips sign.

Also... The slug pictured standing on the sign is a very dapper looking slug indeed! I am sure a passerby will give him a lift to any of those destinations. Perhaps the car with the sign (truly a very holy roller, yes?) will give him a lift, and a very spirited one at that. :) "Ditto that, on the Honk Honk!"
As you can see, you have a talking ladyslug on your GPS. (Global positioning Slug)

Great pics, love the sign at the back of the car : )
Is the fella by the big sign Mr Toad himself?

You know, I really thought Jesus would have driven a "people carrier"...

LOL - a very humorous continuation to your previous post.

Phillips is full of resources but we knew that, didn't we? ;-)

LOL again at Steve's comment - he's quite right but then no people carrier would have been big enough.

Regarding the bottom photo I would have been tempted to give a little bumper hit to the car, just to see how Jesus reacted to the accident.
Love, man. :-)

Babbler - I thought toads ate slugs... or did I miss something?

I've been wondering where Jesus was...

That sign is full of info. I don't know where Phillips is. By the name of the bank I am guessing Maine. But I would stop and get some of their pizza. By standing on the sign, you show how really huge that sign is.

Oh, I just love that photo of you!

Let's just hope Harry's Saw Sales isn't supplying Beanie's Barber Shop - You might end up with a little more of the top than you hoped for!

Is that you on the sign?

Jaysus on board huh? What will those clever people at Honda think of next?

confusing indeed - what is all that extra info on the first sign???

Dear Mrs Babblerslug,
I am so honored ! Not only to have the services at my disposal of a talking lady slug on the GPSlug device, but also to have been promoted to the status of "owenslug", I think it must be something akin to being knighted, which is better than being benighted, in any case, you've just sent me soaring into the stratosphere for a good gliding, sliding bout of slugslime induced euphoria ! What a treat ! That is indeed an old photo of a younger owenslug, on a road trip to go see a magical rock band known as the Grateful Dead Slugs, in a place called Oxford Motor Slugway, in Oxford Maine... way back in 1988. And one detail I really liked in that sign was the Adams Funeral Home, you know, the Adams Family place !

Take care, slide happily and giddily through your week...

Owen said...

Hi Undertaker, it is in fact Mr Toad, just a younger version... minus twenty years or so... many thanks...

Owen said...

Hey Steve, I think he should have a bright red fifty decker bus that we could all get on...
:-)

Owen said...

Nathalie, you are wicked, wicked, wicked... you're going to have to go say some "hail marys" in penitence. Yeah, peace and love, and who is your insurance company ? But I guess if you're of divine birth and all, you probably don't need insurance...
LOL

Owen said...

Oh yes, and by the way, toads never eat slugs, not ever, not in a million years. Although, a few grilled snails with hot butter and garlic sauce is another story !
:-)

Owen said...

@eloh, well, now that that mystery is settled, and the second coming is over, we can get on with wondering what is going to happen in 2012 !
:-)

Ann said...

great photo of you !! do you consider yourself a Deadhead?

Owen said...

Hi Techno B, it was indeed up in Maine, went up there once in the summer of '88 to see the Dead play at Oxford Motor Speedway, in Oxford, Maine, which believe it or not, is just south of Paris, Maine, and South Paris, and if you go north from there a little ways, you go through Mexico and Carthage, before getting to Phillips ! Gotta go back there and shoot some more signs... am kicking myself for missing them back then...

Owen said...

Dear Pliers, but you can hardly see me in it... actually, probably better that way !
:-)

Owen said...

Owen said...

Stickup ! You are a riot...
:-)

Owen said...

Dear Lola, it is, it is, well, it was, it was, a younger me... and perfect timing that you should drop by, I'm starving and I'll bet you have some good ideas to remedy that !

Owen said...

Jimmy, now ain't that a hell of a marketing ploy ? Truly inspired ! Almost as good as Gideons Bibles in hotel drawers...

Owen said...

Hi Catherine, it's a little hard to read, true, but it's all the businesses in the town, the bank, the funeral home, the pizza place, the barber shop, everything needed for getting along in life...

Owen said...

Hi Ann, well, yes and no... depending if being a "deadhead" is ok or not...
;-)
just kidding...

Well, I admit, I love their music, and I did, a long time ago, travel rather alot to see them play in Arizona, Las Vegas, Maine, Pittsburg, Atlanta, Paris, Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Deer Creek Indiana, etc, but does that make me a deadhead ? I don't, and didn't ever, listen to them to the exclusion of all else, my musical tastes are fairly wide and varied... but it was true what was said, "There ain't nothing like the Grateful Dead"... and "They weren't the best at what they did, they were the only ones that did what they did"... There was an incredible sense of community around their music that I've never seen anywhere else... and I miss it... does that make me a deadhead ? maybe...
:-)

Well if Jesus is on board, then nothing can go wrong. ;)

That is quite a sign, and it would need to be to fit so many street names. Thanks for posing by it for scale. Which way did you go?

Marguerite said...

What an adorable photo of you, mon cher, Owen! And the sign itself is most amusing. Kinda spells it all out in one place! And you went to a Dead concert there?! You really are a Deadhead! Cheers, mon ami!

Haven't seen such a huge sign before, providing indeed some kind of hope to avoid traffic jam, being a by-pass...over here one wishes for city authorities to undertake their streets such an operation.
Wishining you a wonderful Wednesday.
