This small but intense semi-abstract landscape from the easel of R.E.K. is another of his incredible visions of the world expressed in thick layers of oil paints slathered on heavy over fiber- board. The deep red, or scarlet, off in the distance remindes me of Monet's Coquelicots while conjuring up visions of Autumn scenery in New England, or maybe even fire... fire in the valley...
