My good friend Homer Stern said to me a while back, "You know Owen, should I happen to fall down dead one of these days, payback for past excesses, well just haul my lifeless corpse down to the coast where a derelict boat like this one is waiting... toss me in and push me off at high tide so I can drift out to sea with the tide; and for all eternity wander the waves, bleached bones under the sun and moon and stars. I wish no tombstone no grave no casket no suffocating earth upon me... if life must be full of limits, at least let there be freedom in death."
