A Dog Blog ? ... or ... A Blog Dog ?

Since I've told you one or two secrets about me already, let me share another with you : there are few things I enjoy more than playing around with a playful dog ! And taking pictures of dogs in all shapes, sizes, forms, and dispositions. This friendly black and white hound would have played all day I think if I would have stayed. As it was, after he had his afternoon swim and a good shake after, we played with a soggy, slimy tennis ball for about 20 minutes at least, and he showed no signs of tiring. The higher the ball bounced the better . . . and if you enjoy dog photos and portraits, do take a little trip down to the south coast of France to visit Jilly's Riviera Dogs ; her dogs love French visitors and furriners alike . . .
.
The Beatles did a song called "Twist and Shout", well, this was "Twist & Pout" . . .
.

Dog thoughts : "Get the ball ... gotta get the ball ... get the ball ... don't miss the ball ...

.

More dog thoughts : "Catch the ball ... get the ball ... gotta get the ball ... bite the ball ..."
.

Dog thoughts (cont.) : "Got it !!! I Got it !!! I caught it !!! I did it !!! Yes !!! Wooffff !!! "
.

That border collie really loves your camera.

I enjoy taking photos of goats. They love posing and is it possible to find a more quirky or humurous animal (except from some birds, but they are not as keen on being photographed?

As you are a Robbins' fan, you probably remember the goat farm in "Cowgirl Blues". Hilarious!

Hello Owen! I dare say that this post qualifies as a class in "DOG 101." You have covered the finer points of dogdom here, I have taken some notes and filed them accordingly.
***I would like to know if you have been to class yet over at slugs rest? I prepared a special course for you as a result of your intelligent inquiries....Please refer back to the previous post before the class where I have answered some of your questions regarding the porta-potty situation. You may then proceed to class. Please bring a sharpened #2 pencil, calculators allowed as long as they have no memory.
A sparkly fun day to ye'
Mrs. Slug

Quel superbe article ! Avec ton texte, on s'y croirait ! Waouf !

Ciao pixelpot !....;')

That first shot is fantastic!.. love it!! My two hounds are eejits when it comes to sticks or balls, they don't quite get the idea. One goes and gets it, then the other thinks it's playfight time and floors her, then they forget about the ball and run round playing by themselves! My dogs are special that way... and I'm left looking like a fool in the field, yelling in a childlike bellow; "get da stick... dat's right... get da stick... stick stick stick...."... etc!

I am very fortunate to work in an office where people are allowed to bring their dogs to work. We usually have 3-4 dogs running about. It really helps cut down on the office stress. :)

Just adore that first photograph. You really caught the moment! Border collies have to be the most intelligent and trainable dogs but they do need training else they can become crazy. This one looks so happy, lots to do including catching balls which it's obviously VERY good at. Thanks again for the link, Owen.

I went to some dog training classes two nights ago and took a load of pics so will start a series on those shortly on RD.

My dog, Ziggy, a lovable Sheltie, Shepard mix, used to play catch with tennis balls....I miss him still.
