Cat and Tonic . . . ( a favorite drink)

Lest anybody think I may be biased in favor of dogs (even if I write alot of doggerel), please consider these portraits of cats taken over a series of years . . . I may be getting older, but am not yet catatonic. . . and if the impulse strikes you, well, catapult some comments from wherever you may be. If perchance you wish to see some more of my feline photos, scroll down to the "Chaotic Index" at right here, to "Cat Photographs", give it a click, and the catalog of all twenty previous cat related photos will magically be at your disposition... you could almost call that a concatenation... if you stretched your tolerance of stretched vocabulary a bit. So no caterwauling from any Watercats over any language used here please, oh no, don't be getting catty, just imagine you could live a cat's life (which you can't !) and sleep 16 to 18 hours a day while raising hell the rest of the time. . . sounds good to me.

Her royal highness (a cemetery cat) does not deign to look at a lowly human photgrapher :

Cat thoughts : (black cat) "Oh leave me alone so I can go back to sleep" or "Don't even think about touching me or I'll scratch you to bits". . . and "Leave me alone, I'm sleeping" . . .
.

More cat thoughts : "oh just leave me alone, I'm sleeping already"

What can I say? The feline I got from these great photos was one of complete purrfection...

It is catastrophic that you are able to capture such great images - makes me feel quite inadecat. I don't intent to pun so I will - with difficulty - refrain from saying I found them purrfect. There I didn't!
Miaow!

hahaha @ Laurie!
your puns are CATching! heeeheee

Hey Owen,
kittys just LOOVVEEE sleeping on warm bonnets of cars. Last week a cat wouldnt climb of from the bonnet so it drove about 10 metres with me. i was very careful ofcourse! (i am a catlover if you wondered) i just wanted to see how far he'll go! :)

I love cats, don't have one myself, too much trouble to feed/clean up after etc BUT... My post this morning has a cat-like theme and I've given you an award!! :)

Cats are my thing, always have been. You capture them so perfectly. I am more than curious about the "cemetery cat," however. Is it like a library cat that lives there?

Among our current six cats is Willow, who sleeps on my pillow. You can't tell in the photo at this link, but this 8-mo-old cat has a tiny beard. If curiosity has the best of you (as it always does the cat) you can key in "Willow" in my blog search box to see photos and videos of her with her goatee.

You are one cool cat, Owen!

The top one is my favourite by far. An absolute winner!
Having said that I'm allergic to cats so I'd rather see them in photo than on my lap.

Cats are cool and at a Squeeze, this post is cool for cats too. Nice photos again of subjects that are often remarkably difficult to capture. Cats don't like having their photo taken!

What a difference. In your last post, the dog was like a coiled spring - always ready to chase, catch and play. With this post, the subjects are nearly asleep, already asleep and have been sleeping for a long time and may be asleep forever!

Oohh ! Il y a une de tes photos qui n'est pas jeune...! une Renault 5 ! Pétard !
Allez... Ciao PixelfriendpotOwen !.....;')

That last picture is real puurrrrdy.. You know, there's something about cats that always get's me , feline groovy, but something about their gaze that makes me feel terribly clawstraphobic, let mmmeeeeooowwwt!!!....

Just linked you on my 2nd bloggiversary post --the cats on the car were a veritable shoo-in!

I have zero interest in cats, but these photos are brilliant. Especially the last one - the distance, the lines - very nice.

Oh my, what a catastrophic collection of comments here ! :o)
... or is it =^_^=

Steve, better a warm purring feeling than a strong desire to take a catnap I suppose ! Always a pleasure to read you. By the way, you never did let on as to how you resolved your dog problem??? Did you get an attack cat to safeguard the property ???

Laurie, I think you better lay off the catnip ! Long term abuse of catnip can cause a catatonic state of lethargy and mental confusion ! And confusion is certainly a hallmark of cat behavior... ours can never decide if they want to be in the house or out... so consequently they come in and go out... and come in and go out... all day long... (when they're not sleeping !) Greetings to Minnie !

Desi... tsk tsk, not nice to drive off with kitty on the bonnet... even for scientific research purposes :-D One of our cats loves to come stand in the middle of the road when I get home from work, right in front of the car, so I have to wait for her to saunter off slowly before I can park and come in the house... she just wants to show me who's in charge around the house...

Jessie, MEOW ! will be by to take a look, when I get up from my catnap of course... THANK YOU !!!

Lydia, Wonderful... will take a look asap at Willow... a bearded cat ??? I'd heard of a bearded lady at the circus, but not a bearded cat ! Thanks !

Dearest Sag, awful, clawful ! I suppose the answer to that is something like : "Kenya cut out all that gabon, or I'm gonna get ang-ry-ola, yep gonna get mad-at-oscar..." (I know, that's stretching it...) :-D

Clo... merci !

Nat, so sorry to hear you're allergic, they're so much FUN. My Dad is too, so we never had kitties growing up... making up for lost time now...

Aleksa.... that's the cat's meow !

Hi Adam, you bet, cat's are often worse than movie stars about holding still to have their picture taken... best to catch them when sleeping !

English R., I think Einstein recorded that rule shortly before the theory of Relativity... he called it Einstein's Law of Catactivity...

Most Eminent Lone Grey S.,
Well, the goal is to keep all you squirrels out their on your toes, to mix things up, and wondering what will possibly come next on the Lantern Show... if you go into the back posts index using either "Dog Photos" or "Cat Photographs", there's one a ways back of a very large dog giving a cat a rather bad time... so both themes in the same photo. Best wishes to your British Brethren Squirrels, hopefully they've gone into hiding until Charles loses interest in squirrel genocide.

Dear Unseen, thank you ! When I have a minute (after my nap) I'll come take a look, with pleasure...

ArtSpark, yup, they've got it down pat, you could say...

Mundo Mundaca, I'm blushing... us redheads (well, strawberry blonde) blush easily...

Oh you naughty Watercats ! Now you are definitely confirmed as belonging to the ranks of the pundits and punners along with Steve, Laurie, Sagit, and even Desi is vying for admission... clawstrophobic... that's awful... ;-D PS your Groucho cat is wonderful...

Hi Daisy... wow, way cool, thank you !!! Gratefully.... and have a very Jerry month of June...

Owen said...

Chris, thanks for dropping in, and I appreciate your forthright honesty about your feelings (lack of) for cats. In any case, these are not photos of cats, the cats in them just happened to run in, and get in the way of these pictures just as I was clicking the shutter... the last photo was meant to be a perfectly sober photo of a plain concrete wall... :-D

I am entirely a cat person, so this post makes me very happy. :) You've really caught some great personalities with these photos.

Thanks for knowing that there are never enough kitty pics in the world..I'll be back for more!!

You know, I do love cats, but I am not able to be around them, as I am terribly allergic to them. I used to play with them all the time when I was little and it took the dr's FORever to find out what was causing my eyes to swell up and shut. hahaha. Nevertheless, there is still something about cats.

So, please continue to post your cat pics! =)

Amy... Happiness is the whole idea ! Any little bit of happiness we can spread is better than anything... now, have another catnap to take, see ya !

Paula... thanks ! I try to identify with what is in front of the camera lens... without falling asleep of course :-D

Louciao, exactly, nice furry pyjamas...

Alberto... definitely, if it's important, it will still be there tomorrow !

Lyn, I am starting to realize the secret to a successful blog... MORE CAT AND DOG PIX ! Will do my best to oblige everyone.

Paris, at least the pix are hypo-alergenic, so if they give a warm fuzzy feeling without the eye or sinus irritation, that's the best of all possible worlds I guess... take care =^_^=
