Baskets Full of Butterflies . . .

.

.
I was trying to think of what I could get you all for Christmas
If I could get you anything, anything at all
And after a little reflection, it finally came to me
What better gift for bloggers than butterflies ?
Oodles of butterflies . . . bundles of butterflies
Baskets full and boxes and bags and wheelbarrows
All full of butterflies
Butterflies to let loose in your life
Bouncing on the breeze
Frolicking from one flower to the next
Fluttering freely in flight
Alighting where they will
Gracing purple blooms in your afternoons
For are we not all a bit like butterflies
Flapping from one blog to another
Resting a fleeting moment, then fleeing
Pollinating, cross pollinating
And off again to the fertile fields of daydreams . . .

Trust Owen to stay off the beaten track. No evergreens, pine cones, santas or Christmas lights for his greeting card: Butterflies-- and beautiful ones at that. Excellente idée, Monsieur le Crapeau. ;-) Swing by if you get a chance. My "Holiday post" is a tad different too. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

You've made me smile on a cold, bleak December morning... thank you for that, Owen. A rare gift indeed.

How perfectly beautiful! This post is a true gift to us, Owen, and I am going to print your poem to pin on my Christmas card holder. It is an ideal description of bloggers and blogging. {¨}

It's 3.54 a.m....but when the sun comes up the plants round the house will be alive with butterflies....thank you, Owen for making me look at them more closely instead of taking them for granted!

I bow to the master! Everything about this post is perfectly divine. The timing, the exquisite images, the sentiment, and the writing. You are truly gifted and a gift. I treasure our virtual friendship.

Sending warm thoughts your way as always but it's the time of year to express it. And I think, things are looking up in general on our planet. I feel the gentleness of butterflies being released into the air...

A Very Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Heart goes out to Christchurch New Zealand again battered by earthquakes yesterday...

When will it stop ?

And heart is already in this gift of butterflies to all of you good people... yes, boatloads of butterflies for your pure pleasure, happiness, serenity, tranquility; wishing you a wonderful holiday season, and all the best in 2012, in life, in blogging, and all that is still good in this world...

Thanks for these lovely photos. I do like the butterfly comparison. We bloggers do flit around visiting flowers all over the world. Sending Christmas wishes your way.
