Winding Up 2010 . . .

2010 . . . what a crazy year it has been. Now it is winding to a close. Some of us will be crawling across the transition line to 2011, after the Xmas season madness. After the weather tantrums. Without mentioning any of the world's many woes.

May your holidays be full of music and joy and the peaceful satisfaction you may rightly enjoy as your reward for simply having survived another year on planet Earth.

To serenade you through the coming days, I found a couple of singing frogs.

Do you feel like you've been on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride? Cheer yourself with the robust actions of the so- called lame duck Congress. Least ways, I do. Happy Holidays and best wishes for a stirring 2011.

Owen, I am so completely out of the loop that I'm not even sure how to leave comments anymore. That's my excuse, anyway, if I'm repeating myself here by wishing you and La Grenouille and your two fillettes a joyful Christmas and a very Happy and Adventurous New Year. Now I'll go back and see if I did actually leave a comment on the last post!

Owen,
C'est plus facile de survivre une année de plus grâce au spectacle perpétuel de la lanterne magique ! :)
Je te souhaite une très belle fin d'année, du repos aussi et de très bons moments en famille.
Bises, à bientôt !

Owen,
Mr. Slug and I have been enjoying the high water content of the seasons best, and hereforth extend to you, and your fellow frogs, the finest flies and bugs that dare to fly close to the maw.

Mr. Slug has been busy at school this past semester, and I am happy to report a respectable array of grades has been obtained thus far. This business of learning has kept me quite busy as well, as my latest posts have been more complicated in nature so that Mr. Slug can stay sharp, keeping the optical tentacle glued to the books. I intend to post another entry of Mr. Slugs latest adventure, very soon, so please keep your portruding eye peeled for developments. Very Truly Yours, Mrs. Slug and the "now quite scholarly" Mr. Slug.

Bises !

I owe you...for making me see more what's around me.
Mark you, that can be hazardous in San Jose when someone steals a manhole cover!

Have a merry Christmas and a very happy 2011.

Thanks for the nice year of photos and posts.
The painting isn't of Mme. Grenouille is it?

My Dear Owen, Wherever did you find those paintings? Love the colors! I'm thinking your last photo was shot in good old PA. Good one! I'm happy to report that after 8 soggy days in a row, the sun is shining! It was a warm storm but there is a little dusting of snow on top of Cucamonga Peak. I hope your weather has calmed too.

It's been a wild ride following you about on your escapades and philosophical musings peppered with your undeniable, irrepressible artistry, compassion, sensitivity, and yes, good humor. You shine the light of your magic lantern and illuminate with grace and beauty all that you touch with its glow. I send my warmest wishes to you and your family for a wonderful Holiday filled with peace and joy!

Lovely of you to end off the year with a family portrait. And a bit of rust and roots.

Revel, savour, indulge the holiday spirit with those near and dearest to you.

To one and all,
I thank you all deeply for you fine holiday wishes here, it has been the most wonderful pleasure corresponding with you over the past months and year or more even... Can't tell you how much sunshine your company has been bringing to this immigrant exile in a foreign land...

The frogs were decorating the entrance to a lovely little pub in Williamsport PA, seen on the trip there in September...

I wish you all the happiest of holidays, a fine end to 2010, and much happiness and peace in 2011, and lots of good blogging time...

*******************

I'm not sure how I missed this post but I'm glad I found it. :)
Thanks for the singing frogs and the cool and appropriate sign. I just wish I could hear the frogs over the 50+ mph snow and wind gusts. :)
