A Quick Hello . . .

.
.
Just a quick hello to you all just in case anyone is still checking up on this obscure little blog. Wanted to let you know that I haven't completely fallen off the edge of the earth, but wasn't far from it. Life is good out here on the edge, never a dull moment. Today spent all day with Tom B. exploring two abandoned factory sites . . . a photographer's paradise, and in excellent company. More on that soon ! In the meanwhile, I'm taking off for the next five days into the wilds of northwestern Pennsylvania, here in the land of my birth. Hopefully will bring back a few souvenirs to share with you good people. So bottoms up, and wish me bon voyage. Will be back here just as soon as I can, and will be back around to visit soon, the deities willing...
.
And to hold you over, here are a couple of photos in the Reflections Weekend vein . . .

Oh how I envy you! Tom B goes to the most amazing places. I have a fascination with old abandoned buildings but the last time I tried to get some photos of one I almost got arrested for trespassing. As usual both of these shots are top notch!

Bon Voyage and don't spare the sutter button. :)

You obscure! Hardly. You're internationally famous.

Hi there, Owen! It's been awhile since I myself have been on here. Life has a way of keeping you from what you really love.
I love the shadows in your top photo here. And the second photo is of perfect design.
I travel to the northeast part of Pa, 3 times a year. My parents live there.
I pray to God for a hedge of protection around you as you travel.
Bon voyage!

Glad to hear that everything is OK. Have fun in Pennsylvania, and don't forget to send money to la Grenouille.

I checked out Tom B's blog. He finds some out of the way places and abandoned buildings doesn't he?

Love the 3 leaves! Looks like autumn is upon you. Tom B looks to be the perfect tour guide! You two should have some amazing photo walks! Good to hear from you and looking forward to seeing and hearing about your adventures.

Great photos as usual; especially the leaves. Have fun and stay well.

Owen, you seem to be having a very good time chasing pictures. Clearly you've had the go-ahead from the rest of the family to spend some time on your own, doing what you love. That's pretty wonderful. It's not just the women who need to have 'me time'. Look forward to more of your special photos.

"A simple twist of fate" brought me to your June 9th post. I know I'm very late but I'd like to venture a guess as to the location of the fountain in your photo.

Is it the fountain at Le Grand Palais?

Hi everyone ! Good to hear from all of you... am writing now from the lobby of the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Tomorrow morning am off to see the Grand Canyon... of Pennsylvania. Having gangs of fun, and can't wait to share with you all some of the things seen in the past day or two... amazing what one can find if one looks a little... :-)

And yes, James, you are RIGHT ! It was indeed at le Grand Palais ! Now how on earth did you figure that out ?????

As Roxana wrote, we miss you. I must say that I am really anxious to see images you bring back from "the land of your birth" - and I hope you share some of your thoughts about the place, too. I'm wondering how long it has been since you've been back and what comparisons you might have to previous visits and old memories, and to the land your heart adopted.

Travel safely and happily.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
We look forward to a spate of new and exciting posts when you return.

I wonder how many samples of your dream house you'll find along the way?

Take care,

Hullo to one and all !

Am back from six days of wandering the back roads of Pennsylvania, or Penn's Woods, had a marvellous time, and now have the daunting task of sorting through some 1500 photos to find a few to share with you... they will start to appear here soon. There were no end of dream houses and dream cars, dream landscapes, and dream barns... can't wait to get a few up on the screen here for you, wish I could do it full time... but such is life...

Very best wishes to each and every one of you good people...
