Well Son of a Beach !

.
.
I gotta hand it to James at Newtown Area Photo, when he came up with the idea of creating a Reflections Weekend, he set a good thing in motion. And now months later, people are dropping in from all over the world every weekend to leave links to their reflection photos. So if you have a moment, do drop on over there, and take a peek at some of the many reflections, you may just find yourself hooked like I did. But then I always loved a good reflection. All that light out there bouncing around all day long; sometimes it gets sort of crazy. Or even totally fractured, like this one :

A whole series of reflections here . . .

Guess this was someone's idea of humor ?

Don't use up all your reflections in one go! The 'bullet hole' (is that what it was?) fabricated lovely reflections.

I love this meme too, & your reflections! Well done Owen.

Those first two pics is probably the most perfect cracked glass I've ever seen. A spider web in glass...

Magnifique, la première photo particulièrement.

Owen, when you gonna stop messing with reflections and start fixing up your little green boat--and don't tell me that the picture at the top was made AFTER you fixed it up because I wasn't born yesterday? No, not me, I'm way older than yesterday. In dog years, I'm back there at about the time of the American Revolution.

Oh, I just love details! And yours are splendid!

Soleil de la plage was a French friend's translation of the oft' heard "Son of a bitch!" in the San Francisco of the 80s! Ha! Ha! Ha! Sooooo cute!

Wow. who knew that a broken mirror could look so organic?

Ha! "Soleil de la Plage" I'm gunna use that when I'm feeling in an extremely smarty-pants mood..

I love those top two shots with the refracted(?) light in the cracks of the mirror. Gorgeous. Unlike the person who must have looked in it previously.

The reflection of the couple walking in front of the glass windows is so deceiving. While looking at the first photo of them I thought with my blonde style "how did the windows enlarge the people" and then the second photo showed that the building was not so tall and it made more sense. Duh.

I find the first picture quite hypnotic, almost like a mandala.
I am getting sleepy...very sle-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e--e-e-e-e--e-peeee......

I have to say ... since participating in Weekend Reflections I find myself looking at the world quite differently. The same goes for Shadow Shot Sunday. Two of my favorite memes.

I love your reflections shots - especially the windows with the couple arm-in-arm.

These are all so unique! The first two are wild. I love them. I've never seen a beach scene reflected on shattered glass before. You really have an eye for the out of the ordinary, to say the least!

I especially like the first one since, upon staring at it the fracture pattern become like an object of its own. A three-dimensional asterisk floating in the air.

Hi Owen, the top picture is stunning! It looks so much like something else until you pan back and see what is actually is! Amazing. :)

Dear One and All,
As much as I would like to answer one by one your comments here as I have usually done in the past, right now, even this Sunday afternoon, I have to go back to work...

That green boat won't ever get fixed back up if I don't go take care of it... and there are piles of straightjackets waiting to be sewed, so you could say that I'm just busier than a one-legged butt-kicker right now, as the expression goes. (strange expression at that, granted)

I hope soon to be back to answering comments individually, and visiting your blogs, but right now, the rest of this Summer is looking... like a workaholic's worst nightmare... piles of papers piling up full of straightjacket orders, and someone has to process all those orders... there are already too many people running around loose who need to be in straightjackets, but the supply just isn't keeping up with the ever growing demand...

PS Hey Lynne... WAKE UP ! (and don't forget to execute the instructions I gave you while you were under, in a transe... until I snapped my fingers... I'll be waiting to see the results...)

Again, thanks to all, can't even say how much I enjoy reading your reflections...

These are great and the top ones are very creative in my opinion.

That's absolutely beautiful. At first I thought the two pictures at the top were dandelion seeds.

Gorgeous!

Love that glass web photo, not sure exactly what is was of tho? Unless you took the photo just after you ducked....?? :-)

Cool! really like this:))

One legged butt-kicker? I have never heard that one, but it is an amusing picture. Oh! And can I order a straight jacket? Yesterday, I kicked my own ass, And i was thinking, "Gee, I wish I had restraint."

Owen said...

Myth, You'll have to contact our American distributor for straightjackets... they've got an office in a pentagonal building in Washington...

Virginia said...

I love them all but the top two are amazing. I'd have not thought of that closeup. Now I'm out looking for some of my own!
