  1. I know it may sound corny but I'm really pumped to see how many examples of autumn veg you've squashed in here.

    Did someone say pie??!

  6. Oh golly, those long curved stripey gourds - the green and the orange together - they do something to my knees!
Do tell - did you photograph them all at one harvest festival or are they collected views over many Autumns?

  11. Dear Owen-- I do not care much for pumpkin pie (it reminds me too much of baby food ;-) Sacrilege, right?! ;-) I still loved all your gorgeous photos and focused on the colors and textures. Since orange happens to be a favorite color of mine, your post made my day! -- From Vancouver, BC-- Veronique

  14. Lynne, are you out of your gourde ? Do you want to count them all, so you'll know how many squash it takes to fill the Albert Hall ? Yeah, Pie !!! That's right, we are desperately seeking a pumpkin pie, it is unknown here in France...

  15. Owen, I haven't left a message in awhile, but not because I haven't enjoyed viewing your posts. I have been extremely busy.

Your photos and writings always inspire me and often take me to another place and time for which I am extremely grateful. Though I do not tell you often enough, I always look forward to your next offering.

  20. OMG, way late at work Saturday, Sunday has gone by in a fog... for those who wondered, these were all taken at the same place in Pennsylvania, on a country road about halfway between Reading and Philadelphia, on the afternoon of a day to remember, visiting two abandoned factories in the morning, just a little over a year ago... early October 2010.

Wonderful to see all your jack-o-lanterns shining !

As for pumpkin pie resembling baby food... ah, ah, I'm nearly choking at the blasphemy of it... ;-)

  22. Owen, I forgot to ask: are they all edible or are some only used for decoration ? And if so, which?
