The Shortest Post Ever . . .

Despite the bitter cold weather, this rose was found blooming in Brittany last week. Go figure. And this is to wish a happy new year to each and every one of you, all over the world. Even in the heart of winter a rose may bloom. There is surely a message in that . . .

  11. It's funny you mention this because in our town hundreds of years ago - a blooming rose was found in the middle of the December snow and it was said to be a miracle. A shrine was duly erected and people now come and pray to it.

    We've still got a rose in our garden actually but I've not told the Pope yet.

    ======

    Dear Rain, I think you are right on the money... I'm blooming for all I'm worth these days...

    ======

    Thomai, many thanks for dropping in here... welcome....

    ======

    K'line, je savais que c'était toi, j'étais sûr ! Et comme tu est belle habillée en rose ! Avec ce délicat parfum ! Les sens sont en état de éblouissement... :-)

    ======

    FF, that's lovely... and don't tell the pope ! Things get complicated when they come to lay a claim on common miracles...

    =======

    Yes, again, thanks to all of you... your kind words here are like the watering can that brings up fresh flowers here...

  22. Que de souvenirs avec les roses ! blanches, rouges, roses....

  23. One poor rose, it probably got made fun of when it told all the other flowers it was going to bloom. For what, no one will see, and you will quickly die.

    But because it bloomed when it did... it will last forever in your photo.

  25. I'm late but a happy new year to you, Owen. Apologies for lack of visits. I write now for a website and provide photos as well as car for dogs and the blogs and there isn't time. Time, time, time, where does it go? Perhaps I'm just disorganised!

    It's both punchy and very sweet.

    Belated wishes to you too Owen.
